EMDRAA™ is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, productive, and welcoming environment for all conference participants, including attendees, speakers, volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors, service providers, and EMDRAA™ staff.
All attendees are expected to engage in a professional, respectful, and responsible manner throughout the conference, including during sessions, social functions, and online participation.
Unacceptable behaviour includes (but is not limited to):
- harassment, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind
- verbal abuse or hostile behaviour toward any participant
- discriminatory comments relating to gender, sexuality, disability, appearance, body size, race, religion, or national origin
- threatening, stalking, or intimidating behaviour
- disruption of presentations, sessions, or conference activities
- inappropriate or sexualised imagery in public spaces or presentations
- unauthorised promotional posts, solicitation, or advertising within conference sessions, online forums, or discussion channels, outside of approved sponsor and exhibitor activities
- recording, copying, screenshots, or sharing of session content, Q&A, or virtual discussions
Complaints and Incident Support Process
If you feel unsafe, overwhelmed, or distressed at any time, or if you witness or experience behaviour that is inappropriate, discriminatory, or unprofessional, we encourage you to seek support immediately.
You can speak with:
- a Conference Safe Person (identified by a Teal lanyard)
- the Registration Desk, or
- a member of the EMDRAA™ staff
All reports will be treated respectfully and confidentially. Depending on the nature of the concern, EMDRAA™ may provide wellbeing support, address the behaviour directly with the person responsible, and/or take further action as deemed necessary.
